Floral Fever

Who knew the discount grocery chain Aldi carried cut flowers? Ours probably always has, but by the time I get to the last aisle and pick out my frozen goods, I'm in a hurry to find the shortest check-out line. So I've never noticed the small floral stand just past the frozen juice and ice cream section. But since I am on for flowers at church this weekend, I guess I had petals on the brain. The lovely mauve stem roses they put out this morning caught my eye and inspired this fresh floral arrangement.

    Gorgeous! Were those for Pentecost? Just beautiful. And from Aldi's....I bet you got them for a great price.

    Thanks so much Sarah. Your compliment means a lot, as I was very unsure of my work. It's my first asymmetrical arrangement, and I'm afraid it turned out more like a Bradford pear tree split by lightening! I was on for both the Sabbath and Pentecost, so I just freshened up the arrangement for the second day. The roses were $3.99 for a half dozen, but I had to visit two other stores to get the rest of the flowers and filler. The gardenias are from home, and I even clipped one for Jeff to wear in his lapel so he coordinated from the podium!
